The middle of the coin is a square hole representing the earth. It is also understood that to be the expression of prosperity and wealth. The coin is also engraved with the words “Hoi An Hung Thinh” (Prosperous Hoi An) expressing the wish of Mr. Tran Thai Do – who gave the main idea as well as the theme throughout the Traditional Tet Market event – encouraging the spirit of Prosperous Hoi An.
