Key Result Area:

• Prepare accurate weekly, monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Timely reconciliation of all general ledger accounts with supporting detailed documentation.
• Participate in the preparation of the golf club’s operating budget.
• Monitor and control the collection and disbursement of revenues and payment.
• Continually monitor the clubs cash flow position.
• Continually monitor each department and the club’s performance compared to the budgeted revenue and expenditure targets
• Assist the Financial Controller, General Manager and Department Heads to review and analyze departmental and the club's financial position using various standard reports.
• Coordinate the hiring, selection and training of Finance personnel
• Ensure the golf club accounting practices are compliance with applicable accounting legislation, tax laws and GAAP
• Coordinate the timely filing and payment of property taxes, payroll taxes and sales taxes to appropriate governing bodies
• Oversee the preparation of member statements on a monthly basis, posting of deposits to the general ledger, regular account reconciliations and monthly bank reconciliations
• Ensures that accurate vendor and member contact details are kept up-to-date for billing purposes
• Handles member/vendor inquiries
• Researches, analyzes and resolves any issues regarding AR or AP
• Regularly reviews the clubs accounting practices making recommendations of any amendments to the Financial Controller.

Key Result Area: Other Duties

• To comply with all standards of performance, behaviour, and operational policies and procedures in place at the golf club at all times.
• Participates in internal and external activities that are judged as appropriate to enhance the prestige of the company; or broadens the scope of the company’s operations by fulfilling the public obligations of the company as a participating member of the community.
• Performs other relevant duties as directed by the General Manager.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role or as an audit team leader.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA preferred.
• Good communication and writing skills in English.
• Knowledge and skills: proficient in the use of MS Office, management skills, problem-solving, motivating, organizational, and training abilities.
