• To assist Cluster Director of Finance in overseeing and directing all aspects or operation with regard to the processing and the bookkeeping operations of the hotel and supervision of all members of Accounting staffs.
• Interacting with hotel’s legal counsel, insurance companies, tax consultants, auditors, commercial and government banks to effectively control the assets of the business
• To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of Cost Control and assist management in keeping the cost of sale and other supplies to the minimum
Primary Responsibilities
ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for supervise the work of the General Accountant, AP Supervisor, Income Auditor, Credit manager and accounting Staffs.
• Ensure that subordinates are performing their tasks properly and efficiently.
• Ensure teamwork and efficient to operation of the company by developing spirit and teamwork within department and company.
• Works with Cluster Director of Finance on manpower planning and management needs
• Works with Cluster Director of Finance in the preparation and management of the department’s budget.
TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and maintain orderly accounting system and participate in regulating the generally accepted accounting standards.
• Strictly adhere to establish internal control and safety system within the department to make the financial data reliable.
• Regularly review the reports produced and distributed by subordinates for the content, the quality of presentation, accuracy and investigate to clearly all points of varies.
• Review and authorize necessary vouchers (e.g. payment voucher, journal vouchers etc.)
• Prepare annual budget and compare actual results with projected one. In addition, also investigate discrepancies.
COMMERCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Cooperates, coordinates and communicates with other departments, bank, tax officer and auditor in matters concerning accounting matters
HUMAN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Plan and organizes periodical department training for staff in areas of accounting system and internal control (especially for new staff).
• Identify and develop leadership qualities among staffs in order to guide them towards the path of carrier enrichment.
Main Complexity/Critical issues in the Job
RESPONSIBILITIES AND MEANS
• Implement and review financial controls and policies.
• Communicate with Owners.
• Analyze financial and management reports.
• Design internal reporting systems required by the department and hotel.
• Evaluate existing internal control measures that apply to accounting procedures and computer systems as per Policies and Procedures
• Employ adequate internal control procedures to ensure correct authorization for payment procedures.
• Assists and provides financial guidance in the formulation and implementation of Strategic Plan, Budget, Forecast and KPO’s (Goals Program)
• Prepares monthly position of actual results against budget, analyse results and recommend to Executive Committee measures required to meet budget.
• Manage internal and external audits when they occur.
• Provides administrative support to Management with reference to policy enforcement, business advice and operational assistance.
• Identifies training needs, develops formal training plans and conducts training sessions for accounting and operational staff in coordination with other departments.
• Identifies staff with potential for promotion and/or transfer within Accounting operation.
• Obtains appropriate legal counsel regarding the business practices of the hotel and maintains an awareness of local laws, rules and regulations.
• Provides safekeeping, including proper storage and access for all contracts, leases and other financial records.
• Recommends and maintains appropriate list of delegation of authority for hotel management.
• Conducts monthly inspections and tests to ensure all departments are complying with required procedures.
• Implements and maintains acceptable accounting practices and procedures as required by Accor Policy, generally accepted accounting practices, and as affected by local conditions.
• Review of operating equipment stores to avoid unnecessary/excessive purchases and to eliminate (or at least be aware) of obsolete slow moving items.
• Ensure all accounts are reconciled on monthly basis, review and approve those reconciliation’s.
• Ensure payments are made to Accor (All Fees and billings) as fast as possible.
• Works with Human Resources on manpower planning and management needs.
• Perform any other duties which may be assigned by the management from time to time.

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office.

• Good Communication and writing skills.

- • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum of 4-8 years in hotel accounting or audit with at least one year in an Assistant Controller or similar supervisory role, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
