FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

GENERAL MISSION

• To assist all concerned department / executive office and supervise daily accounting operations

• To supervise the personnel management in the Accounting department

RESPONSIBILITIES AND MEANS

• Responsible for financial and monthly management of accounts – budgets, forecasts, business plans, secretarial duties, insurance, fixed assets and operating equipment. Also responsible for general management of accenting /costing and IT staff members. Responsibility also extends to the day to day control of cashing up procedures as well as revenue reporting and control of cash management.

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Also responsible for general management of accounting / costing & storekeeping /purchasing and EDP/night auditing staff members.

TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Daily checking of computer report with specific analysis of room revenues/ outlet revenues/ telephone revenues and the guest and city ledger

• Ensuring that the revenue report is distributed to management every morning

• Controlling cash at the bank and ensuring that banking is done daily, and all bank accounts reconciled monthly basis.

• Controlling of purchases requirements against budget on a daily basis

• Ensuring Profit & Loss report is ready on time for presentation to the BOD & BOM

• Preparation and updating of the yearly budget on a regular basis

• Preparing, controlling and maintaining /monthly /quarterly / yearly stock take of operating equipment and all other stocks.

• Ensuring that internal control procedures policies are effectively implemented, and followed with coordination of other department heads.

Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance

• Additional certificate as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) will be an advantage

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior finance or accounting position or 2 years of experience in a similar capacity

• High degree of professionalism with strong understanding of business acumen

• Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language

• Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and relevant financial and accounting reporting systems

• Fully conversant in accounting principles and financial regulation standards
