Answer incoming and outgoing calls.
Receive and make the reservations for guests if any.
Know cancellation procedures.
Register guests and assigns rooms. Accommodates special requests whenever possible.
Assist in pre-registration and assign rooms for reservations.
Thoroughly understand and adhere to proper credit, check- cashing, and cash handling policies and procedures.
Must be sales-minded. Present options and alternatives to guests and assist in making choices.
Use suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms and to promote other services of the hotel.
Know how to use front office equipment.
Process guest check-out.
Perform cashier related functions like posting charges to guest accounts.
Work closely with the housekeeping department in keeping room status reports up to date and coordinate requests for maintenance and repair work.
Know how to handle Lost and Found items.
Perform cashiering tasks like bill/ invoice settlement, posting charges to the guest folio.
Use proper mail, package, and message handling procedures.
Advice guest of any messages, mail, etc. received for them.
Communicate services and amenities of the hotel to guests.
Respond to clients’ complaints in a timely and professional manner.
Direct Bellman to escort guest and transport luggage to the room.
Attend department meetings.
Report any unusual occurrences or requests to the Front Office Manager.
Know all safety and emergency procedures, be aware of accident prevention policies.
Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area.
Understand that business demands sometimes make it necessary to move employees from their accustomed shift to other shifts.
Update all the important information related to customer’s stay in department’s log book and hotel guest log record.
