SUMMARY

The Chief Accountant is responsible for all accounting, financial and personnel issues, including, but not limited to: financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliation, account receivable processing, accounts payable processing, payroll processing, local and country taxes, country-reporting requirements at Corporation. They insure the timely and accurate reporting of all financial information within the corporation. They must provide support and information to the CEO on all financially related issues of the Corporation. It is their responsibility to ensure that all controls are in place to guarantee the security of the Corporation assets.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Please note that this is not a comprehensive list of everything that you will do. Eight Four Collective associates will always endeavour to find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their colleagues. Your key responsibilities for this position are:

ONSHORE RESPONSIBILITY

• Handle all general and administrative matters, including financial and accounting issues.

• Provide direction and instruction to accounting staff based on corporate guidelines, correspondence, and discussion.

• Establish detailed guidelines and procedures on all financial accounting and administrative matters, in accordance with the Operating Standards.

• Compliance with Accounting Policies and Procedures.

• Assist the CEO and Board of Directors in preparation of the Monthly Reports, and provide timely information and reports as required.

• Assist the CEO in compiling the annual budget and business plan.

• Review daily cash position and submit weekly cash position to Board of Director.

• Review and inform the CEO and the BOD on current tax law and regulations and act as key contact with external tax, legal and government bodies.

• Monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts on the general ledger and the monthly preparation of the corporate financial statements.

• Controlling physical inventory by directing and supervising the monthly inventory.

• Compute and prepare all local and federal reports, tax returns, and tax payments on a timely basis.

• Maintain fixed asset records and organize physical count of assets on an annual schedule.

• Insure that adequate insurance coverage is maintained for all aspects of the business including assets, business interruptions, and public liability.

• Coordinate purchasing function and when required negotiate prices on behalf of the corporation.

• Coordinate personnel and payroll functions in developing of benefit regulation and procedures.

• Assist the Department Heads with meetings in the areas of communication and coordination of other departments’ business that would affect the operations of the Accounting Department.

• Maintain good relations with Government officials, banker’s lawyers, and tax and landlord representatives.

• Insure that all efforts are made to retrieve outstanding receivables.

• Manage internal and external audits when they occur

• To work as a team with colleagues in all departments, to ensure timely service and a smooth-running operation.

• Assists in maintaining effective employee communication channels within the hotel network.

• Partners with Risk Management to conduct employee accident investigations, as necessary.

OFFSHORE RESPONSIBILITY

• Perform statutory audit of annual financial statements

• Perform any other duties which may be assigned by the management from time to time.

• Follows up on all capital expenditures to ensure compliance with original justification and approval.

SALARY RANGE

The salary range will be from 1,500 - 2,500 USD/month and depend on experience.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Preferably in the hotel in 4 or 5 Star hotels &/or senior F&B hospitality industry

• At least three years’ experience handling all Accounting Department. Current position as Chief Accountant/ Finance Manager or Senior Assistant Finance Manager

• Ability to work in a computer based, multi-task environment. Must be able to work independently with little supervision, as well as can consider, evaluate and make sound business decisions regarding financial related questions

• Experience in Vietnam is preferred, International Experience is a strong advantage.

• Strong in administration background.

• Strong leadership & management skills (lead by example), tactical skills, results oriented and a problem solver

• Has working knowledge of laws within Vietnam is an advantage.

• Familiar with organisational structure, Accounting policies & procedures, training, performance appraisal, KPI, setting up accounting system including software, analysis

• Mature with positive behavior skills as a role model and motivator.

• Strong organization skills, problem solving skills, communication & interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, leadership, innovative and results oriented outlook

• Able to work under pressure and highly motivated

• Energetic, hands-on, flexible, result oriented, motivated and able to work independently

QUALIFICATION

• Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management, Accounting or Finance or related study & / or equivalent work experience.

• Must be fluent in English, & Vietnamese both verbal and written.
